The rare Australian kiwi frog was found in 2016 by John Geter. He was a college student attending at Sydney University when he came across this amazing discovery. A frog that commonly ate kiwi that became the kiwi. The frogs cells would adapt to the cells of the fruit creating a new frog entirely. The problem with this is all of their organs become Kiwi. Johns studies show that the frog adapts so well to the fruit that they are actually edible. If not consumed they will die in a few hours after transformation.

Into The Cell

The frog has unique genes that cause the cells to reconstruct into the consumed kiwi. John looked farther into it to see the enzymes breaking down completely before rebuilding. Like a butterfly in a cocoon the frog’s insides turn to mush before reconstructing.

Other Fruits

John was curious on what would happen with other fruits so he tested by giving them different kinds. The results were catastrophic! The proteins broke down but never rebuilt. He concluded that it was the large amount of antioxidants that helped the transformation. Fruits with less would not change the frogs insides but instead melt the organs.
